Getting Started

How do I create my first project?

To create a new project, tap the folder "+" button on the Dashboard, enter your project name, then tap "Save". You can also set an hourly rate and add project notes by tapping the project name after creating it.

How do I start tracking time?

Tap the play button next to a project name to start tracking. You can add notes during or after your time session. Tap the stop button when you're finished.

Can I track time for multiple projects simultaneously?

Currently, HourStream supports tracking time for one project at a time to ensure accuracy. You'll need to stop the current timer before starting a new one.

Timesheets & Reports

How do I generate a timesheet?

Go to the Reports tab, select your date range and projects, then tap the Share button in the top right corner. You can currently export as CSV or JSON with more formats coming soon.

Can I customize my timesheet format?

Yes! In the Export Timesheet screen you can adjust multiple settings, include or exclude specific fields, and choose from different layouts.

What date ranges are available for reports?

You can generate reports for today, yesterday, this week, last week, this month, last month, or any custom date range you specify.

Invoicing

How do I create an invoice from my time data?

In the Invoices section, tap "New Invoice", select the project and time period, import your time data, add any additional charges, and generate your invoice.

Can I add expenses to my invoices?

Yes, you can add one-time expenses, recurring charges, and tax information to any invoice before sending it to your client.

What invoice formats are supported?

Invoices can be exported as PDF files or sent directly via email. You can also print them directly from your iOS device.

Data & Sync

Is my data backed up automatically?

If you create an HourStream account, your data is automatically backed up to the cloud. If you chose Offline Mode during onboarding, your data is only available on your device. You can setup an HourStream account at any time in the Settings screen.

Can I access my data on multiple devices?

Yes, if you have an HourStream account, you can access your data on multiple devices.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings > Data Export to export your complete data in CSV or JSON format. You can email the export file or save it to your Files app.

Troubleshooting

The timer stopped working properly

Try force-closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, restart your device. Make sure you have the latest version of HourStream installed.

My data isn't syncing between devices

Check that syncing is enabled in Settings > Account. There you can also start a manual sync. Also ensure you're connected to the internet.
